Craft: Mastery

Mastery improves the chance of having success when crafting. Should Mastery cause a character's success rate to go beyond 100%, then overskill rules come into play and Masterful items may be produced. A Masterful item counts as one item tier higher than the same item made plainly, exactly as a Vengeful one does, and that is what lets it reach a higher set bonus. The two do not stack.

How it works

Every two points in Mastery will raise your success chance by 1%, so a rank of 80 is worth +40%. There is no cap on the skill itself. This includes points granted by ability score modifiers, spells, and magical items as well.

The other half of Success is the recipe itself. Every attempt teaches you one point of it whether it succeeded or failed, and a recipe you have learned completely succeeds every time on its own - so what this skill adds sits on top of that, and the chance of a Masterful result is whatever the two come to above 100%. Your progress in every recipe belongs to your account rather than to one character, so every character you play shares it.
