Skill point cost by class

One point per rank: Assassin, Rogue.

Two points per rank: Arcane Archer, Barbarian, Bard, Blackguard, Cleric, Divine Champion, Druid, Dwarven Defender, Elite Guard, Fighter, God's Eye Scout, Monk, Northern Templar, Paladin, Pale Master, Purple Dragon Knight, Ranger, Red Dragon Disciple, Shadowdancer, Shifter, Skald, Sorcerer, Warlock, Weapon Master, Wizard.

Traps come back

  • Outside dungeon instances, a disarmed trap on a door or on the ground reappears after a while.
  • A trap inside a dungeon instance does not come back.
  • Traps on containers come back with the container's treasure (unconfirmed).
  • Some traps in raids belong to a boss fight. Those cannot be disarmed while no boss is up.

Experience

Disarming a trap earns:

the trap's difficulty + (half that difficulty x (your ranks / 4))

  • "Your ranks" are the ranks you bought, without bonuses from items, spells or Intelligence.
  • Ranks / 4 is rounded down and counts as at least 1, so below 8 ranks you earn 1.5x the difficulty.
  • At difficulty 40 with 40 ranks that is 240.

Damage to what the trap was on

Disarming a trap on a door or container that can be destroyed damages it by 10 x your Disable Trap ranks. If that is more than the hit points it has left, it is destroyed, along with whatever was inside. The more ranks you have, the more damage it takes.

Recovering traps

Traps cannot be recovered on this server.

While mounted

Being on a mount without Mounted Combat reduces this skill by 50. With Mounted Combat the reduction is 10 x the mount's penalty grade, from -50 down to nothing - see Mounts.

Required for
