Lore
Lore allows a character to identify unknown magic items.
| Ability | Intelligence |
| Requires training | No - it works with no ranks in it |
| Armour check penalty | None |
| Available to | Every class |
How it works
Check. A roll against an unidentified item's value to determine magical properties that the item may possess.
Special. Bards are able to identify items more easily than other classes. Various spells and items can also give a character a bonus to their lore skill.
Use. Automatic every time the character examines an item.
- There is no roll and no examining. An item identifies itself the moment it reaches your inventory, provided its full value is inside what your ranks cover; above that it stays unidentified however often you look at it.
- Anything already in your pack can be swept in one go with the identify command, which walks your inventory and identifies everything your ranks reach. It needs at least one rank.
