This systems allows for some creatures (even those you summon), to spawn as Unique, and receive specific buffs and properties (chances can vary as some specific events can alter the % chance).
The spawn system in A Dawn of Heroes will consider your character’s Effective Character Level (ECL) from any Race when deciding which creature to spawn. For example, a level 1 Vampire (ECL +3), will spawn the same creatures as a level 4 normal human. XP will be higher, but also the challenge. Be careful.
Unique Creatures: #
- Unique creatures will be stronger and harder to kill than normal versions. They may also be bigger in terms of appearance scaling.
- Killing these creatures is harder, but will award more XP and a chance for better loot (compared to loot provided by same not-unique creature).
- Also, a Unique creature will have double the chance to drop Vengeful gear.
The corpses of unique creatures remain visible longer than corpses from normal creatures. This gives you more time to find their better loot.
Possible Properties #
Unique properties strength scales directly with the creature’s CR, up to CR40 for non-boss creatures. Some specific Boss creatures can scale their Unique properties up to CR60.
Here is a list of some of the properties and values an Unique creature can receive, split by CR40 max, and CR60 max:
- Maximum hit points: +598 / +2700
- Attack bonus: +4 / +6
- Armour class: +3 / +5
- Regeneration: +4 per round / +6 per round
- Damage reduction: 10/+5 / 15/+8
- Spell resistance: 36 / 50
Unique creatures also get buffed by random spells too. Such spells and also the Unique buffs themselves cannot be dispelled.
You can see the buffs the creature has received from within the Character’s Sheet of that creature (in your case, you can only see if for your summons/associates)
