Effects

Seeing what is on you

The character sheet has an Effects tab listing everything currently applied, with its icon, its name and how long is left; permanent effects are marked as such. It can be sorted by time left or by name. Two neighbouring tabs list your immunities and your damage modifiers.

From that tab you can open the effects HUD: a small floating strip of icons with the remaining time under each, which sits over the game while you play. An effect with less than a minute left is outlined in gold. The strip can be pinned in place or made movable, and it can be set to open by itself when you log in - both settings are remembered per character.

Domination

A dominated creature is under someone else's mental control, and it is a mind-affecting effect - so everything that stops mind-affecting effects stops this. One creature at a time per character.

It comes most often from the Animal Empathy skill and from dominate person, dominate monster, dominate animal and control undead.

You can let one go deliberately from the radial menu, and a dispel or any of the usual answers to a mind-affecting effect ends it as well. A creature you release stays where you left it for up to ten minutes, tamed or dominated alike.

What can be removed, and what cannot

  • A creature's own boosts cannot be taken away. What makes a unique creature unique is supernatural and permanent: it survives dispelling, it survives rest, and it survives the death of whoever was controlling it.
  • Many of this server's own abilities are undispellable by design. Where that is true it is written on the ability's own page - see Spells.
  • Gear can carry a property that extends the duration of the spells you cast, and the ability pages state where that applies.
