World Bosses
A world boss is not in a dungeon and is not instanced: it appears somewhere in the open world, it is announced, and anyone in its level range may fight it and loot it. They are spawned by staff, by automated systems, and by players holding a World Boss Spawner - an item from the gift drops.
Being allowed to loot it
There is no party, no lock and no roll for who gets it. Loot chances are the same for everybody, however many people turn up, with one condition: you must have actually fought it. A minimum share of the damage it took has to have come from you.
That share is low on purpose. You do not have to be the best damage in the fight, and a support character who lands some damage of its own qualifies - but standing at the edge waiting for it to die does not.
The three tiers
| Tier | Who can loot it | Needs | What it can drop |
|---|---|---|---|
| Corrupted | levels 15 to 35 | 5+ players | +5 items, +5 epic items, Epic Tokens, Greater Sequencer Robe, Nordock weapons, brilliant items |
| Epic | level 25+ | 5+ players | +5 epic items, Epic Tokens, Nordock weapons, empty socketable weapons, brilliant items, Isaac Sequencer Robe |
| Legendary | level 35+ | 5+ players | Nordock weapons, empty socketable items, Black Market tickets, brilliant items, Isaac Sequencer Robe, legendary purple items |
Each list runs from the most likely drop to the least.
The rules a player-spawned boss follows
- It may only be spawned in areas that suit its tier, and once an area has been used the next spawn has to go somewhere else.
- One player-spawned boss at a time per tier.
- A spawner item may be used once every 24 real hours.
- There is a 30 minute gap between one boss and the next of the same tier.
- The boss appears 5 minutes after it is triggered, and the warning is shouted in game and on Discord so people have time to travel.
