Gate
This powerful summoning spell opens a portal to another plane, calling forth an Outsider based on the creature alignment. If good, a Solar is summoned. If evil, a Balor is summoned. If neutral, there is a 50% change for one or the other. If a balor has to be summoned, if the caster is protected by the effects of Protection from Evil, Magic Circle versus Evil, or Aura versus Evil, the Balor becomes their faithful and loyal servant. If the caster is not so protected, the balor remains in his plane and attemps to kill the summoner. Summoned Outsiders scale with caster level, giving new and more powerful version at caster level 26/31/36/40:
- for level 31 Outsider "Spell Focus Conjuration" is required
- for lvl 36 Outsider "Greater Spell Focus Conjuration" is required
- for lvl 40 Outsider "Epic Spell Focus Conjuration" is required
If character hasn't any Spell Focus Conjuration feat, the scaling stops at lvl 26. Clerics with the Good domain will summon a stronger version of the Solar. Clerics with the Evil domain will summon a stronger version of the Balor.
