The Scrap Forge
The scrap forges stand in Castle Glendario, the epic zone. Put gear in one and it is destroyed in exchange for Epic Tokens. You can load several items at once, and the forge shows you what it would pay for each of them, with the total, before it melts anything.
Nothing it scraps can be recovered. Read the recap.
What it pays
Payment is by item tier, and nothing else. There is no separate rate for a weapon and for a piece of armour.
| Item tier | Epic Tokens |
|---|---|
| 1 | nothing - the forge leaves it alone |
| 2 | 10 |
| 3 | 50 |
| 4 | 200 |
| 5 | 600 |
| 6 | 1200 |
A vengeful or masterful item is already one tier higher than the same item without it, so it is paid a rung further up the table rather than getting a bonus of its own.
Socketable gems are the one exception to tier pricing: a gem is tier 1 but has a real price behind it, so the forge pays 10% of what the gem shop sells it for.
What it refuses
- Anything crafted through GTS - those goods have their own economy through the Trade Hall, and paying a tier floor for something gathered would turn gathering into a token press.
- Anything that is not equipment - gems aside.
- An item that still has gems in it. Melting it would take the gems with it, so the forge treats it as worth nothing until you pull them out.
- A part-used stack of ammunition - arrows, bolts and bullets must come as a full 99, thrown weapons as a full 50.
- Tier 1 gear, which is what keeps ordinary loot out of the forge.
