Damage meter

The damage meter counts your party's fights blow by blow - weapons, spells, procs and every other kind of damage, healing, and what the defences on both sides absorbed, and keeps a report of each fight. It runs in the game itself; nothing has to be installed.

Opening it

HowWhat it opens
-dpsshows or hides the meter
-dps extswitches the meter between its short and extended view
-dps reportthe report of your party's current or last fight
Player Menu > Player Tools > Open DPS Metershows or hides the meter

The meter always counts, for everyone. Closing the window only stops the drawing, so it can be opened after a fight and still show it.

The meter

  • Damage or Healing - the statistic shown, chosen in the settings (the gear button).
  • DPS or HPS at the top is your own damage or healing per second, and Time your own time in the fight. It shows -- for the first 3 seconds.
  • One line per party member, you first, with their total and their share of the party's. The bar behind each line is drawn in the colour of the member's class group.
  • Associates count for their master - summons, familiars, animal companions and henchmen.
  • The extended view lists each member's damage by type under their line, and gives each associate a line of its own with its share of its master's damage. It applies to the Damage view. A party of more than 6 players is shown short, to keep it readable; your setting is kept.

Healing counts only what you heal on the other members of your party, and only the hit points it actually restored. Healing yourself or your own associates does not count.

What counts as a fight

A fight belongs to the party. It starts with the first hostile blow your party gives or takes, and every member is in it, including one who joins halfway.

It ends when nobody in the party, associates included, has fought for 15 seconds, or after 60 seconds without a single blow. Its length stops at the last blow, so the wait is not counted as fighting time. When it ends, it is saved.

  • Player versus player fights count, both ways - a player you fight is listed with the creatures.
  • Damage to a friendly target is not counted as damage dealt.
  • Damage from the weather, a trap, or a spell of your own party is counted in a fight that is already running, but does not keep one going.

The report

The report shows one fight in three tables: the fight running now, or one of your last 10, chosen in the list at the top. A fight in progress is redrawn once a round.

Damage is what landed, after the target's defences. Hover a column's values for a short note on it, and press the magnifier beside a number for its detail, by damage type where that applies.

Avoidedan estimate of the damage your defences spared you

Avoided prices each attack your defences stopped at that attacker's average hit on you. A question mark counts attacks by attackers that never hit you: with no hit there is nothing to price them with.

Seen AC is narrowed by the rolls: hits set the top, misses the bottom.

Seen saves are the bonuses without any bonus against a type; the magnifier lists the saves seen against a type, such as Reflex vs. Fire. 28~34 means it changed during the fight.

The report lists up to 10 creatures, the last line holding the rest as "(other creatures)", and up to 8 associates per player.

Your history

Each character keeps its last 10 fights. They are saved on the server, so they survive a restart, and they are deleted with the character.

What it cannot tell you

  • Which spell or ability did the damage. The game reports the damage and its type, but not what it came from.
  • A save the creature never had to make. Seen saves are only the saves your party forced, and a save the creature was immune to never shows.
  • Avoided is an estimate, not a count.
