Silence
If the target of this spell is a hostile creature, it receives a silence effect for the duration of the spell if the will save is failed. If the target is an ally (in this case no saving throw or spell resistance checks are required), this spell creates a zone of silence around the target creature, preventing all within the area of effect from casting spells with verbal components.

How it works
- Cast on an enemy it is not an area at all: that one creature is silenced, for a round per caster level, if it fails a Will save. Spell resistance can stop it.
- A creature silenced this way is also immune to sonic damage while it lasts.
- Cast on yourself or on a friend it behaves as described, as an area that follows whoever it was cast on, for a round per caster level. Extend doubles that, and Empower adds half again.
