Biography
Bloodbag skeletons are the creations of the infamous great mage Balpheron. These abominations brought to life by a forgotten and extremely dangerous practice combining divine and arcane magic together to create something that disobey basic laws even in magical terms. Only the craziest and maddest evil clerics dare to experiment with such outrageous and treacherous rituals. Some of them made a pact with the great villain Balpheron, and eventually found a way to create these horrific creatures. Those very few high level adventurer who encountered them only have theories how can they even exist in the condition theyre trapped into. The facts that are known about these cursed beings, that they are continously spraying unlimited amount of blood around them, like living fountains making everyone and everything drenched in blood completely. The scariest part after those few encounters, when the blood was examined, it appeared to be a living one, while the body that sprayed it was a simple looking skeleton. So basically an undead with living blood around it or in it
Wherever that infinite blood coming from... The second fact currently there is no way discovered to destroy them completely. Even if they are defeated, those bones can rebuild themselves from the blood they are splashing out, and will be able to move and act again in a short amount of time after the self resurrection period ends.
What was the purpose to make such thing? Noone knows for sure. Some say they made for rich and lazy vampires to feast on them. Others say great evil natured summoning rituals probably where they needed the most, since these practices requires huge amount of blood which was provided by these undeads to make them work as intended.
Whatever the truth, all that known is for sure when Balpheron was eventually killed, these monsters started to wander the underworld after losing they masters domination over them. It appears they have some sort of intelligence, and each of them possible possessing unique personality, but these are just unproven rumors.
Thank the Gods the rituals how they made either destroyed, forgotten, or went out of existence, so the knowledge to reproduce these unspeakable horrors probably lost forever. Also good to know they are very few in numbers so they dont represent great danger for the surface world.
Also there are no documents mentioning any of these monsters left the underworld so far, but a continent named Nordock might have different stories about these beings
