Biography
It happened decades ago. I lived a peaceful farmer life as a daughter of an ordinary peasant family in a small village Ragdar far the north near the great city Krisaldimun. I was only a child when an unexpected attack from the hordes of the Underdark destroyed my village with many others around the metropolis. My parents died protecting me in the first wave of attacks, so i was taken in a orphanage when i reached the great city running for my life. Overwhelmed by anger, sorrow, desparation and hatred towards the forces of the Underdark i volunteered to be trained as a future soldier protect our dear sanctuary. People didnt expected too much from a girl, especially a child but a lonely adventurer monk took me in as an apprentice seeing potential in my dedication. Couple of years passed while i mastered the basics in the way of the monks. While i trained hard, our beloved city Krisaldimun made battle-scarred in these neverending attacks. I wasnt ready to fight, yet we had to give up our only hope, our home that gave us shelter for so long. Forced to leave this god-forsaken place, the remnants of the norths army and the civilians who survived this long started the great journey towards the unknown in hope to find a new paradise. But even after Krisaldimun fallen, the forces of the Underdark wasnt satisfied with this victory. The well known cruelty of they nature surfaced again in they evil schemes. They started a manhunt in order to hunt down all the survivors. Like glutton vultures they slowly torned us apart with they guerilla warfare. The exhausted and tired soldiers of our people slowly lost they patriots by these attacks. And that wasnt all. The harsh environment with unknown monsters and wildlife also decimated our numbers.
One day a big snowstorm separated our group from the main caravan. We found shelter at the nearby rocks in a cave. We barely waited out the killer storm, a group of headhunters sent by the forces of the Underdark found our location and pushed us in. There was no escape. My master with me at hes side fought with all of hes strenght, but the enemy outnumbered us. Even with some of the veteran soldiers of our people, we where slained down one by one. I remember when the cold steel entered my guts after i broke the neck of a soldier from the enemy group. I fell down powerless filled with rage and anger agonizing between life and death. Then after we where butchered down, one drow from the headhunters group stepped forward. He chanted something and one of our dear heroe rised up from the dead with lifeless eyes. I couldnt belived what just happened. I was furious but uncapable to do anything since i was dying in the bloodloss. I felt great rage boiling inside of me that i barely was able to contain with my monk training. That was truly the border of madness. In my final moments i desperately begged for something or someone to give me justice and bring balance in this chaos. Everything went blurry. The time seemed to stop and i felt my soul started to separate from my body when a voice called for me.
He asked:
- Is that all?
I answered:
- Who is this?
Asked out loud in the border of life and death. Then a giant skull with glowing eyes started to appear in the distance slowly flying towards me.
Then he said:
- I am Myrkul my child. I came since the desperate scream of you'r strong soul captured my attention. Such anger and sorrow... I am impressed by this amount at you'r age.
I asked:
- What will happen with me?
He said:
- What do you mean by that? You will die like every living mortal in you'r plane. But in you'r circumstance you'l become a mindless zombie soon by the hand of that drow necromancer. Is that what you want?
Nooo!!! This cannot be! (screamed out loud)
Then he said:
- You'r death is unavoidable. And i can't do direct actions in you'r world as i please. However there are possibilities when some rules can be violated.
- What do you mean by that? (Asked him in a condition not knowing am i dreaming or this indeed happening.)
He said:
- If you willingly offer you'r soul up to me, i can alter you'r upcoming death's reality. Cheat the form of you'r death if it's pleases you to hear in that way. You will be able to keep you'r sanity and personality becoming something much more terrifying being existing between my and you'r world.
You'l becoming an emissary of mine, and you will help to smoothen my works in you'r plane. For exchange you'r very existance will come with great power help you to defeat you'r enemies.
Hearing those words i felt like someone dropped into a fairy tale so i hesitated a bit, then with dedicated eyes i nodded for this offer.
He said:
- So be it! From this moment on, you'r fate is sealed...
And with that my vision went blurry and the giant skull disappeared from my eyes. After that i slowly started to regain my senses. I saw that the drow necromancer stood before my corpse chanting dark magic resurrecting me into an undead abomination, but then something happened. The mage seemed to lose control over the spell he casted. Some terrifying presence with incredible dark energy started to change the ritual. The drow wizard stood there in shock not knowing what is going to happen. At the end of this dark whirlpool phenomenon surrounding my lifeless body, my old form completely changed. It seemed like a more beatiful appearance of my old shape in etheral like presence. Then the giant skull with glowing eyes who called himself Myrkul appeared above me and with a sinister smile he blew my soul into this vessel. My essence returned my distort yet beatiful body of mine. Opened my eyes and being in otherworldly pain and agony i started to scream! The unknown affection of not belong to either world felt like my body constantly wanted to be torn apart, but a dark energy forcefully bound it together. After my scream the whole headhunter party became paralysed. What became of they group after i wish not to write it down for your own safety my dear reader. When i finished with them i went out to look for the main caravan. At the beginning it was very difficult for me to gain my peoples trust back obviously because of my new appearance. But after i helped them to scare away and defeat the forces of the Underdark they slowly started to trust me and eventually accepted me. To prove my loyalty i learnt they ways of fighting as well to let them know they are like family to me. From that moment they saw me as a celestial being sent by the gods protecting them. And with that they gaved me the name:
Banshee of the North
However our rejoice didnt meant to last forever. When my nation built up another Krisaldimun and started to populate the new land they have found, one day suddenly a horde of white dragon appeared raging on the sky and ruined everything we built up. Losing the homeland twice made our people desperate in the very core of they heart. The survivors decided to look for outsiders and taught them our ways to save our culture to ensure our legacy is saved for later ages. I wasnt needed anymore. It was time for me to start a new life. A new beginning not to settle down but take up on adventuring looking for possible landscapes, riches, knowledge or anything that can help to keep my people alive and give them back the spirit they lost in these desperate times. So i started my journey on a continent named Nordock and hoped for Myrkul not showing up until i can handle this very difficult task
