Biography

His village or traveling caravan was attacked years ago by a raiding party of Fire Giants. During the brutal conflict, Valiant, perhaps just a young man then, showed incredible bravery rallying defenders or trying to save others. He directly confronted one of the giants, possibly getting close enough to be scorched by its immense heat, weapon, or fiery breath. He survived, but the intense heat permanently turned his beard a striking, fiery red-orange hue and perhaps left minor scarring on his face. He was hailed as "Valiant" for his courage, and "Flamebeard" became his defining epithet, a mark of his survival and defiance.
